Mr. Nussbaum - Drumline Coach DRUMSETS - beware of sets that come with cymbals - the cymbals generally sound like trash can lids - get a set that doesn't come with any cymbals. A decent set will cost over $500 without cymbals - make sure the hardware is double-braced. - Tama (Rockstar)
- Pearl (Export)
- Ludwig (Rocker)
- Yamaha (Stage Custom)
SNARE DRUMS CYMBALS - beware of "starter packs" where you get a set of cymbals fairly cheap - they sound cheap (trash can lids) - Sabian - stay away from B8 - I recommend AA and HH
- Zildjian - stay away from ZBT and ZXT - I recommend A and K
- Paiste - stay away from 302, 502, &802
HEADS - Try to avoid single ply heads on top - double ply lasts much longer and keeps a better sound. Evans Remo STICKS - Remember: taping sticks is a marching band thing. It lets a gunky residue on cymbals. Do not tape sticks for indoor playing. - Vic Firth
- Pro Mark
- SilverFox

He has performed at the University of Dayton with the marching band, Flyer Pep Band (they're awesome), and the indoor drumline. He also performs professionally with the Shotgun Band out of Xenia, Ohio. He is currently an percussion teacher/instructor throughout the state of Ohio. --Terry Butts is a former student who is currently playing in a band called Scarlet Conviction. The band is quickly gaining a good fan base in the Dayton area. Check out some tunes on the website [http://www.scarletconviction.com/] and listen to Terry go crazy on those drums! |
